First ‘Parma Vision Night’ well received

More than 20 machine vision companies took the chance to be present at the first ‘Parma Vision Night‘. Taking place the evening before the SPS Italy opened its doors in Parma the networking event attracted 50+ persons representing trade show exhibitors and also visiting companies.

The representatives of the two organisers Messe Frankfurt Italy and the EMVA showed themselves impressed by the very positive feedback their proposal received. Both confirmed their plan to repeat the event and establishing it as a fixed topic in the trade show agenda for the years to come.

In 2017 the ‘Parma Vision Night’ will be held on Monday, May 22nd.

In general the SPS Show Italy could achieve new records too, both in number of exhibitors and trade show visitors. 674 exhibitors (+11%) were prepared to present products and services to 28,614 visitors (+22%). Within this success also the exhibitors of our industry again gained increased visibility and attention.

“Control Vision Talks” receive positive feedback

The first ‚Control Vision Talks‘ forum at the 30. Control – International trade fair for quality assurance from 26 – 29 April in Stuttgart – became  a success story. More than 50 speakers presented topics on applied machine vision and optical metrology for quality assurance during all four show days at the lecture forum which was set up under the expert guidance of the European Machine Vision Association (EMVA).

will share his deep inside knowledge of the machine vision and imaging market in the UK.Mark is responsible for leading STEMMER IMAGING’s product and market strategy, and also leads the corporate marketing team and oversees UK sales. Previously Mark founded Pinnacle Vision Ltd (UK) in 1997,  which became part of STEMMER IMAGING in 2004.
 Mark Williamson
Mark has been in the Imaging and Machine Vision market since 1989 holding a number of board positions in start-up and public companies in both commercial and engineering management roles being instrumental in launching the world’s first streaming IP camera in 1994 which was used to stream the EMMY’s on the internet for the first time in 1995. His early career was at Cossor Electronics, part of Raytheon and was involved in the development of digital signal processing subsystems for the world’s first 3D ultrasound inspection system and secondary surveillance radar systems.
Mark graduated from Hertfordshire University in the United Kingdom with a 1st Class honours degree in Electrical and Electronic engineering and progressed to become a chartered engineer (CEng) and member of the institute of engineering and technology (IET).  He was chairman of the United Kingdom Industrial Vision Association (UKIVA) for 12 years before stepping down in 2015, is on the Machine Vision board of the VDMA and is on the board of the umbrella PPMA group of trade associations. Previously Mark was chairman of the IET’s Vision and Imaging Professional Network. .

will present his answer to the frequently upcoming question: Is 3D Time-of-Flight imaging technology ready for machine vision applications?Chris Yates is the CEO and co-founder of Odos Imaging, having been recruited in 2010 to lead the commercialization of novel time-of-flight technology, originally developed within Siemens, Munich. Since the company was founded the scope and interest in time-of-flight imaging has increased dramatically, and within his presentation Chris will address the topic predominately from a machine vision perspective.

An experienced industrial technologist, Chris has specialised throughout his career in taking early stage technology through development to commercial products, and maintains an active interest in research within the field of electro-optics. Chris was previously the Chief Scientist at Edinburgh based start-up MicroEmissive Displays, a spin-out from Edinburgh University which focused on the development OLED-on-silicon micro-displays for virtual reality applications, and subsequently floated on the AIM, London. He has held positions at Scottish start-up Forth Dimension Displays working on ferroelectric liquid crystal displays, as well as being involved in various technology spin-out activities at the University of St Andrews, Strathclyde University, as well as the Technische Universität, Berlin.  He has authored over twenty scientific publications, multiple patents, and holds a 1st class degree and Ph.D. from Imperial College, London.

Adimec partners with Rauscher GmbH for sales and support in Germany and Austria

Adimec, a world leader in application-specific, leading-edge industrial camera solutions, announces a new partnership with Rauscher GmbH, a German-based distributor of industrial imaging components.  Through the partnership, Rauscher will provide sales and support of Adimec’s high resolution cameras throughout Germany and Austria.

Ambienta buys MIKROTRON

Ambienta, the largest European private equity fund specialised in environmental investments, is pleased to announce the purchase of Mikrotron, a German-based leader in high-speed machine vision cameras. Mikrotron, together with Tattile, which Ambienta purchased in 2012, will constitute the core of LakeSight Technologies, the consolidation project backed by Ambienta aimed at building a European leader in the machine vision sector. Machine vision systems, typically used in quality inspection and automation solutions for industrial processes, are crucial in reducing unnecessary processing, thus improving energy and materials efficiency.

e2v partners with FRAMOS for Imaging Sensor Distribution

FRAMOS, the Germany based provider for imaging solutions and distributor for image sensors and related components today announced it has been appointed by e2v as official distributor for their entire CMOS image sensors portfolio. FRAMOS will today focus on e2v’s JADE, SAPPHIRE, RUBY and ONYX global shutter sensor series up to 2 Mpixels, especially allowing to address special imaging applications in the near infrared (NIR) segment or under extreme low-light imaging conditions, or providing sensors in extended temperature range.
