EMVA1288 Hands-On Online Training – New Release 4.0

Be among the first to learn about the exiting extensions that have been added to the new EMVA 1288 Standard, Release 4.0.

The Online Training in Cooperation with the EMVA will take place 19 – 20 May 2021, 10.00 -17.00 CEST.

The EMVA 1288 standard, release 4.0 takes the rapid development of the camera and image sensor technology into account. In fact, until Release 3.1, the application of the EMVA 1288 standard with a simple linear model was limited to cameras with a linear curve and without any pre-processing.

With Release 4.0, the characterization of a non-linear camera or a camera with unknown pre-processing is possible even without any model due to the universal system-theoretical approach of the EMVA 1288 standard. Depending on the camera characteristics, the evaluation can now be applied according to the linear or general model.

In addition, Release 4.0 includes numerous expansions to characterize the latest generation of image sensors and cameras according to the application.

No On-Site Control Trade Fair in 2021!

EMVA’s Forum for Machine Vision & Optical Metrology – the Control Vision Talks – consequently will not take place at Stuttgart fair ground this year.

The decision is made: once again this year, it will not be possible to hold the 34th Control international trade fair for quality assurance as an on-site, live event. After in-depth consultation with the exhibitors and the trade fair advisory board, trade fair promoters P. E. Schall GmbH & Co. had no choice but to cancel the trade fair highlight which was scheduled for the 4th through the 7th of May, 2021.

The EMVA and its media partner inVision magazine well understand and support this difficult decision.
The running preparations on the forum’s program and speakers list have been stopped immediately.

LASER World of PHOTONICS is postponed

The world’s leading trade fair for photonics components, systems and applications enables advance planning for exhibitors and visitors with new trade fair dates for spring 2022. In close coordination with the industry, partners and advisory boards, Messe München has decided to postpone LASER World of PHOTONICS to April 26 to 29, 2022. World of Photonics Congress will be held in a digital format on the original dates of June 20-24, 2021.

Due to the existing travel restrictions and the currently unclear Covid-19 situation, Messe München has decided to postpone LASER World of PHOTONICS by ten months. One of the main grounds for this decision is the large share of international exhibitors and visitors, accounting for more than half of the total number of participants, a high proportion of whom come from other continents. Under the current conditions, holding LASER World of PHOTONICS in June would make it impossible for the trade fair to live up to its standard of being the world’s leading
trade fair and to provide the on-site platform for innovations and products with indepth technical discussions that is so highly valued by the industry.

With the new date, we can offer our customers planning certainty in a timely manner,” says Dr. Reinhard Pfeiffer, Deputy Chairman of the Board, Messe München, and adds: “With this postponement of the trade fair event, we are creating the basis for a successful in-person international trade fair and following the wishes of our exhibitors and visitors.
