Top Speakers at EVE 2019 Showcase Embedded Vision Mega Trends

The Embedded Vision Europe Conference 2019, 24-25 October, Messe Stuttgart, will again highlight a conference program with top-class speakers on the trend topics Embedded Vision.

We are very proud to announce the already confirmed speakers:

+++ David Austin / Intel Corporation, gives Opening Keynote +++ Neil Trevett / Khronos/NVIDIA +++ Jagan Ayyaswami / Micron Technology +++ Andrea Dunbar / CSEM +++ Michael Engel / Vision Components +++ Jonathan Hou / Pleora +++ Pierre Gutierrez / Scortex +++ Vassilis Tsagaris / Irida Labs +++ Gion-Pitschen Gross / Allied Vision +++ Bram Senave / Easics +++ further speaker announcements to follow +++

Here we highlight two top contributions of the conference:

Andrea Dunbar | Head of Embedded Vision Systems at CSEM S.A

“Autonomous data-logger with ULP imager”

Andrea Dunbar joined CSEM in 2006 and is today head of CSEM’s Embedded Vision Systems department, which focuses on highly-constrained embedded vision systems. Her research interests include optics and hyperspectral imaging as well as machine learning and embedded systems. She has a PhD from EPFL Lausanne, Switzerland.

Abstract of Andrea Dunbar´s Talk:

Andrea will present a fully-autonomous “stick-on” vision system which brings together an ultra-low power imager, optimized embedded intelligence and custom optics, all powered by a thin flexible photovoltaic cell. This system offers new perspectives in remote security, access control, sheltered accommodation and perimeter control.

Michael Engel | President at Vision Components GmbH

“MIPI Cameras: New Standard for Embedded Vision”

Michael Engel is a physicist who has been working in the field of image processing since 1982. At the VISION 1995 trade show, Michael Engel presented a fully functional VC11 prototype – the first intelligent camera – or embedded vision system in today’s words – for industrial applications, which he had developed from scratch all on his own. Soon after, early in 1996, Vision Components was founded.

Abstract of Michael Engel´s Talk:

Today, high-tech components from consumer markets are suitable for embedded vision applications – at competitive prices. Michael´s talk will give an overview over state of the art and possible application fields in Embedded Vision of MIPI camera modules.
