EMVA update on web presence
Association Website With New Look & Feel

The EMVA just recently published its updated website www.emva.org.

We are very happy that our web update project could be finalised in due time and within the foreseen budget‘, comments Thomas Lübkemeier, EMVA Genberal Secretary. ‘The association’s web presence is the main platform for our communication with members and the industry in general. It provides very useful and beneficial information and besides our social media channels, the importance of sharing content online via the website will further increase.

The updated EMVA website due to the introduced ‘responsive design’ now offers a significantly improved user experience with mobile devices. In addition EMVA members benefit from various new advertising opportunities.

EMVA President Chris Yates will be on the panel in the expert Webinar “Coping with Covid impact: What next for the vision industry?” on Monday 2 November, 4pm (CET) hosted by IMVE.

Foosball: Human versus Robot using high speed XIMEA camera

ImageProfessors and students at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne are developing a robotic player installed into a foosball table. The plan is to make it more accurate, faster, and more strategic than any potential human player.
Therefore, the system should be able to find the ball’s position on the table, evaluate a strategy of how to score and execute it with the help of precision motors. The latest performance improvements to the vision and strategy aspects were made possible by the implementation of a high-speed camera from XIMEA.
The camera, placed under the table, runs at 500 frames per second (fps) and creates a solid basis for the detection and control of the ball in real time. At its current stage of development, the foosball table robot is able to beat any regular player it encounters.

Robust 10 GigE cameras with 24 MP Sony Pregius S and 65 MP Gpixel sensors

Image Baumer is expanding its 10 GigE cameras of the LX series with four new models that perfectly support applications with very high resolution and image quality demands for the reliable detection of even the minutest details and deviations. New Fujinon lens series for 3-chip cameras

Image The new FUJINON TF-MA lens series from Fujifilm was developed for industrial-use high-resolution 3-chip color cameras and is optimized for precise measurement and inspection tasks. The special design of the series of three C-mount lenses with focal lengths of 6 mm, 14 mm, and 25 mm meets the highest demands in terms of color reproduction and optical resolution.

In the machine vision sector, 3-chip color cameras are used in environments where images of highest color fidelity and optimum image resolution are required. They incorporate a prism block as beam splitter and utilize band-pass filters that distribute the incident white light to three beam paths for red, green, and blue. Read more ›

Newest RGB prism color camera has high-speed 10 GigE interface

Image JAI has introduced a new 3.2-megapixel, 3-CMOS prism color camera in its Apex Series that runs at nearly double the fastest frame rate of its previous 3 x 3.2-megapixel models.
The new AP-3200T-10GE features a 10GBASE-T (10 GigE Vision) interface that delivers full resolution, 24-bit RGB output at 106 frames per second. 3 x 10-bit and 3 x 12-bit output are also supported.
Like JAI’s other 10 GigE models, the AP-3200T-10GE’s 10GBASE-T interface is equipped with integrated auto-negotiation technology, providing automatic backwards compatibility to NBASE-T (5 Gbps and 2.5 Gbps) and traditional 1000BASE-T (1 Gbps) output for customers running vision applications on these lower-speed Ethernet standards. With the latest Sony IMX542, IMX541 and IMX540 global shutter CMOS sensors, the new Triton cameras provide even higher resolutions in a compact 29×29 mm size without sacrificing image quality.
