Virtual 18th EMVA Business Conference – 26 June 2020
First ever online conference very successful

This year’s EMVA Business Conference, due to the Corona pandemic for the first time ever took place in an online format last Friday.

More than 130 registered attendees enjoyed a perfect mix of presentations addressing various up-to-date technical aspects and updates on machine vision standards as well as how to organise sales processes with the restrictions caused by a worldwide pandemic.

With his keynote ‘Trust in the Age of Fake Realities – Why the Virtual Economy needs more Common Sense‘ Stephan Sigrist, Founder and CEO of the Swiss think tank W.I.R.E., set the day’s highlight.

All conference breaks were efficiently used for prescheduled B2B meetings, this time in the form of online 1:1 video calls.

EMVA President Chris Yates and EMVA General Manager Thomas Lübkemeier are looking forward already, ‘For the first time we did our annual conference as online event and we are very satisfied especially because of the first positive feedbacks received from participants directly afterwards. But obviously we hope to get back to physical conferences, forums and trade shows soon – surely the 2021 Business Conference from 10-12 June 2021 in Sofia will be a very special highlight next year.

EURESYS
3D for 2D vision engineers

Image The job of conducting industrial inspection tasks, such as taking highly accurate height measurements of an object, measuring protrusion of embossed patterns, is usually given to expensive and time-consuming 3D systems. But Euresys has a cheaper and more flexible solution which is available right now. Yuzairee Tahir, VP sales and support APAC from Euresys, takes a look at how 2D vision engineers can have 3D at their fingertips.

The machine vision fraternity knows that it is a complex and computer intensive job to use a 3D point cloud to solve industrial inspection tasks. Read more ›
