The EMVA just published the Agenda and most of the foreseen Speakers of the upcoming 2025 European Machine Vision Forum, taking place at the Fraunhofer IIS/EZRT in Fürth, Germany.

Under the headline ‘IMAGING THE INVISIBLE’ the 2025 edition addresses various topics like Hyper Spectral or X-Ray Imaging.
Presented use cases give insights in vision applications not only in industrial areas but also in the medical field as well as in space technologies.
The conference program offers a comprehensive mixture of presentations from institutes/science and industrial players, a tour through the hosting EZRT institute, an accompanying table-top exhibition and networking opportunities.

Early-Bird fees available until July 6!

Automatica 2025 and Laser World of Photonics 2025

With a remarkable participation of machine vision technology at vision-tech exhibition stands as well as integrated into the numerous robotic solutions in the trade show halls automatica 2025 has closed its doors last week in Munich with a record number of around 47,500 visitors.
A good double-digit number of EMVA member companies took the opportunity to exhibit at automatica and its partner trade fair Laser World of Photonics, and reported an overall positive feedback regarding attendance and quality of the generated leads. It was also stated that the parallelism of three trade fairs – World of Quantum being the third – provided synergy effects with high added value for exhibitors and visitors and new impetus in the way how photonics, quantum technologies and automation complement each other.
In addition, an optimistic beacon was sent out from Munich last week since many exhibitors were positively surprised by the industry mood. As reported in the official closing report, the photonics sector is even expected to grow by six percent annually in the next few years.
The next date for the three parallel trade shows will be June 22 – 25, 2027.

Inspection of critical infrastructure using intelligent drones

The inspection of critical infrastructures such as energy plants, bridges or industrial complexes is essential to ensure their safety, reliability and long-term functionality. Traditional inspection methods always require the use of people in areas that are difficult to access or risky. Autonomous mobile robots offer great potential for making inspections more efficient, safer and more accurate. Uncrewed aerial vehicles (UAVs) such as drones in particular have become established as promising platforms, as they can be used flexibly and can even reach areas that are difficult to access from the air.
