ALLIED VISION – Infrared camera enables reliable facial recognition
A research team at the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences has developed a skin detection process which supports biometric systems in securely identifying faces. For measurements in the infrared range, the scientists rely on the Goldeye G-032 SWIR camera.
For security in public places, buildings such as airports, or security-related areas like data centers, biometric systems are being used more and more. The greater the proliferation of such systems, the greater the probability of possibilities designed to circumvent or outwit them. This, in turn, requires the development of even more reliable security systems. Read on…
Teledyne DALSA – Trevista: Detecting Defects and Scrapping Waste
Clever Automated Quality Assurance Solution Delivers 3D Accuracy at 2D Speeds.
Detecting the most miniscule details on a test object can determine product quality, affect costs, and even save lives.
This is especially true in the automotive industry, where Germany-based Zorn Maschinenbau produces small-to-micro-components for fuel injection pumps. These pumps not only directly affect vehicle performance and efficiency, the defects they monitor for can also create risks to public safety. This makes rigorous inspection, even at high speeds, a necessity. Read on…
