DataMan 700 Series hand-held code-readers are fast, accurate and versatile
US-based Cognex Corp, which designs, develops, manufactures and markets machine-vision sensors and systems, is introducing the DataMan 700 Series of hand-held ID readers - available in two versions.
The DataMan 750 model is designed to be used with electrostatic sensitive devices (ESD), making it ideal for reading one-dimensional (1D) and two-dimensional (2D) codes in the electronics and medical device industries. It also uses IDMax decoding software to handle code degradation that can result from differences in material types and surfaces.
The DataMan 710 model features IDQuick decoding software, enabling it to read high-quality 1D and 2D formats quickly and consistently, and low-contrast codes on uniform backgrounds. It provides exceptional performance on labels and other well-marked codes, says the company.
Both models use an advanced image formation system to optimally illuminate marks on a wide range of surfaces.
The intuitive DataMan user-interface (shared by all DataMan models) has been optimised for quick set-up. A compact and ergonomic design makes the 700 series exceptionally easy to use, while the units' rugged construction ensures long-term reliability in industrial environments.
"The new DataMan 700 hand-held readers really 'round out' our ID product family. We now have a reader for every need, so customers can rely on Cognex for all their industrial code-reading requirements," commented Carl Gerst, Senior Director and Business Unit Manager for ID Products at Cognex.
The firm is also introducing the DataMan 100S fixed-mount ID reader. It says that it is ideal for reading codes on slow-moving parts or where index motion is used. The instrument joins other members of the DataMan 100 family, which includes models for reading the most challenging direct part mark (DPM) codes and text, figures and symbols marked on fast-moving parts.
