EMVA at AUTOMATICA in Munich
The AUTOMATICA is a major international showcase for machine vision, robotics and assembly and handling technology and presents the entire value-added chain in robotics and automation.
This year AUTOMATICA set a new record for visitor and exhibitor numbers. The event attracted over 32,000 trade visitors from around 90 countries. More than 7,000 trade visitors were from outside Germany. The top countries of origin among the visitors (apart from Germany) were Austria, Italy, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Spain, Slovenia, Denmark, France and the US. Visitors benefited from an extensive number of concrete applications on display - including robot vision, machine vision in assembly and the production of solar cells - a growing market for vision and automation technology.
At AUTOMATICA 208 around 870 exhibitors from 41 countries presented their product innovations and services in the fields of assembly and handling technology, robotics, machine vision and associated technologies on 32,000 square metres of net exhibition space. The proportion of exhibitors from abroad rose to around 30 percent.
As AUTOMATICA was an excellent occasion to provide networking opportunities, EMVA invited its members to an informal Get-Together. The networking quality of the event was enhanced as members of the German VDMA Machine Vision Group as well as participants in the 30th International Symposium of DAGM (German Association for Pattern Recognition) were present. As a result, the EMVA networking Get-together united industry and science from all over the world and offered the opportunity to make useful contacts.
