High resolution digital camera runs at 30 fps
Baumer Optronic GmbH of Radeberg, Germany is offering a digital camera that is built for speed and runs at up to 30 fps.
The TXG14-fast described as a 1.4-megapixel, Gigabit Ethernet camera that has been designed specially for fast processes that also require a high resolution. The system will find applications in the packaging industry for handling systems, such as pick-and-place robots, and in measuring routines.
Fast processes demand short and constant processing times within the camera. In operation, the TXG14-fast has a very short delay time between the trigger and the beginning of the flash, and a fine setting of the exposure time in micro-second steps. These properties provide uniform brightness which is necessary for grey-scale analysis.
The camera has been tested according to the EMVA 1288 standard and has UL certification for the US market. It also supports the GigE Vision and GenICam standards. Baumer says that it is easy to integrate its cameras with image-processing software by using Baumer-GAPI - a generic programming interface that is available for the Windows environment and Linux operating system.
