Adimec cameras use latest Kodak sensors for superior image quality
Dutch company Adimec Advanced Image Systems BV has introduced two new additional charge-coupled device (CCD) cameras with two interface options - GigE Vision and Camera Link - to its Opal and Onyx families.
These 2-megapixel cameras, with a 5.5-µm pixel size, are based on the latest line of Kodak sensors - the KAI-02150 - enabling greater spatial resolution, says the firm. Available in monochrome and colour, the 1600 versions of the Opal and Onyx units have resolutions of 1600 x 1200 pixels, while the 2000 versions have resolutions of 1920 x 1080 pixels (HDTV).
Built on a platform approach, the newest Opal and Onyx family members continue the similar form, fit and function that exists throughout the product line, enabling the systems to be easily integrated in existing systems, and maintaining compatibility for future upgrades in original equipment manufacturers' (OEM) applications. This concept also allows OEMs to customise systems while helping them to get their products to the market quickly.
Adimec says that each member of the Onyx family of cameras offers a superior image quality with the flexibility and cost-effectiveness of GigE. The Opal range uses the industry standard Camera Link interface providing twice the data throughput of similar cameras. For both product ranges, the use of advanced sensor technology combined with optimised embedded video processing provides excellent linearity over the full dynamic range.
