New EMVA Executive Committee elected
The 7th European Machine Vision Business Conference in Dublin - May 15th & May 16th, 2009 - attracted more than 120 participants from 22 countries and was more international than ever before. Besides European countries, Brasil, Canada, China, India, Israel, Russia, and the U.S.A. were represented.
The ample networking opportunities during the conference were used for expanding business contacts and for intensive discussion of the current economic challenges and how to face them.
Four different sessions focused on machine vision in Ireland, technology and business trends as well as machine vision markets. The market session placed emphasis on the BRIC countries and their potential for establishing and enlarging the machine vision business in these rapidly emerging economies. The attendees received information on the state of the technology as well as current figures, not previously presented.
At the EMVA General Assembly the election of the EMVA Executive Committee took place. For the next three years the Executive Committee will be composed of Mats Gökstorp (SICK, Sweden/Germany), Gabriele Jansen (Jansen C.E.O., Germany), Cor Maas (LMI Technologies, The Netherlands), Ignazio Piacentini (ImagingLab, Italy) and Toni Ventura-Traveset (Datapixel, Spain).
