HX camera family is designed for high-speed inspection procedures
Baumer Optronic GmbH of Radeberg, Germany, a major international manufacturer of sensors and systems for factory and process automation, is offering a family of high-speed cameras for demanding industrial vision applications.
These high-speed, complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) cameras combine high frame-rates, up to 500 fps, with a resolution of 1280 x 1024 pixels. Hyper frame-rates of up to 120 000 fps are achievable by restricting the image data to one, two or three regions of interest (ROI) within the full frame, explains the company.
These cameras are designed for ultra-fast machine-vision applications such as semiconductor quality and process control or analysis of rapidly occurring processes in industrial applications. Available in monochrome or colour they are compatible with C-Mount or F-Mount optical accessories. By supporting the Camera Link communication standard, the systems guarantee data transfer rates of up to 680 MB/s for high-speed applications.
The HX family provides an exceptionally high photo sensitivity of 2500 ASA. This enables high-speed inspection procedures to be carried out under low-light conditions. In many cases, supplemental lighting is not needed, which reduces costs.
The HX family of cameras offers an adjustment option that models the non-linear dynamic response of the human eye, says the company. This option is useful because a CMOS sensor's linear response is not ideal for applications that involve capturing images of scenes with a high dynamic range, which contain both very dark and bright objects.
