Low-cost camera with GigE Vision Interface soon available from AVT
Manta, a low-cost camera that uses the GigE Vision Interface will be available from Allied Vision Technologies GmbH (AVT) during the second quarter of 2010.
The company, which designs, produces and sells cameras and components for image-processing applications in the industrial sector and life sciences, describes Manta as a simple, robust digital camera for industrial imaging. Initially launched at VISION 2009, it is designed to take advantage of the GigE Vision Interface and make this technology more affordable.
Manta does not 'skimp' on the essentials, says AVT. It is equipped with Sony's ICX CCD sensors - offering six different resolutions, ranging from VGA (0.3 megapixels) to 2 megapixels. The optimised GigE Vision interface enables the system to produce up to 60 images per second at full resolution (VGA). Its compact housing is designed to endure the stresses and strains of industrial use.
