Basler launches 60-fps one-megapixel Pilot models
Germany's Basler AG reports that it is expanding its successful Pilot GigE series by adding new models that are equipped with Kodak's dual-tap KAI-01020 CCD sensor.
The new monochrome and colour Pilot models are able to capture 60 fps at a full one-megapixel resolution. This frame rate is a key requirement for increasing throughput in factory automation applications. In intelligent, traffic applications, and semiconductor and electronics manufacturing, the 60-fps rate is also a significant advantage, says the firm.
Basler's experience with Kodak sensor tap balancing means that users of the new models will see the same brilliant image quality that they already obtain from the established Pilot camera models.
"Basler continuously strengthens its camera portfolio by launching new models with, for example, a higher speed or richer features. Customers benefit from these ongoing developments," commented Werner Borchert, Product Manager, Basler Components.
The Basler pilot camera family is based on four selected Kodak CCD sensors and one Sony CCD sensor. Equipped with a Gigabit Ethernet interface (compliant with the GigE Vision standard), these cameras take advantage of the Kodak sensor technology and they often can replace more costly Camera Link cameras and frame grabbers. For more flexibility, this series offers additional software features that can be integrated into image-processing software, running on a remote computer.
