MaxxVision introduces IEEE-1394b camera series by Sony
MaxxVision GmbH of Stuttgart, Germany, is now offering the latest series of cameras by Sony based on the IEEE-1394b interface.
This series adds six high-performance systems to Sony's established XCD-Series. Each camera has two IEEE-1394b connections that allow users to quickly connect several cameras to so-called 'daisy-chain-appliances', says MaxxVision. This makes it easy for users to integrate the cameras into systems and to synchronize them.
The new series includes cameras with 0.85 cm (1/3-inch) and 1.4 cm (1/1.8-inch) Sony CCD picture sensors. The systems are available in various resolutions - from VGA (640 x 480) up to UXGA (1600 x 1400) - while at the same time supporting IEEE-1394b, which realizes transfer rates up to 800 Mb/s.
In addition to high resolutions and fast transfer rates, the new mono and colour models deliver constant high frame rates up to 90 fps in trigger mode. MaxxVision claims that the XCD-SX90/CR is the only SXGA (1280 x 960) camera available on the market capable of running at 30 fps. In addition, it says that with dimensions of 33 mm x 44 mm x 57.5 mm they are the smallest of their kind and are therefore easy to integrate into existing systems.
