Fraunhofer HHI

The Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute (HHI) is part of the Fraunhofer society, Europe’s largest research organization. Its research is dedicated to innovations for the digital society of the future with focus on the development of mobile and optical communication networks and systems, fiber optical sensor systems as well as the processing and coding of video signals.
In the field of video processing HHI has a recognized position on the international technological and scientific level. More than 90 experts conduct research in close collaboration with leading companies in industry and science focusing on cutting-edge technologies in the fields of monocular, stereoscopic and multi-camera video. In this context, it covers the whole processing chain from initial content creation to final rendering with special focus on advanced 2D and 3D analysis and synthesis for post-production, computer vision, machine learning, image understanding, video coding, human machine interaction and immersive media. In addition, advanced processing for complex systems consisting of multiple camera, sensors, displays, projectors or screens are covered.
