Toni Ventura-Traveset new EMVA President

    Toni Ventura-Traveset of DATAPIXEL, Spain, was elected the new EMVA President by the EMVA Executive Committee on 4 May 2012. Mr. Ventura-Traveset, who has been a member of the Executive Committee of the EMVA since its foundation in 2003, follows Mats Gökstorp of SICK AG whose term of office had recently ended at the EMVA Conference 2012 in Lisbon, Portugal.
“We have set the course for growth. Machine Vision is a key and very successful industry for Europe. The European Machine Vision Association aims to provide excellent support to our members, by providing more visibility to their products, facilitating cooperation with other industries, representing our business community in front of the European bodies, intensifying collaboration with the national associations, and expanding the standardization activities to foster future growth of our markets”, Mr. Ventura-Traveset said after his election.
On the same occasion, the EMVA Executive Committee elected Dirk Käseberg of Mettler-Toledo Garvens (Germany) EMVA Vice President. Pierre-Alain Champert of Coherent Europe, France, was elected EMVA Treasurer.



General assembly prepares EMVA for future growth

Lisbon meeting sets the course for independent legal entity

The European Machine Vision Association (EMVA) has set the course for future growth of the organization with the goal to strengthen the current association activities and to build up additional support for all EMVA members. At the general assembly, which took place on April 19 prior to the 10th EMVA Business Conference 2012 in Lisbon/Portugal, the Executive Committee was mandated to transform the EMVA in an independent legal entity as a non-for-profit association. This will improve the visibility of the EMVA as a true European association. Read our press release.



EMVA launches Young Professional Award

Lisbon, Portugal, 21 April 2012. - On the occasion of the 10th EMVA Business Conference 2012 in Lisbon, Portugal, the EMVA Young Professional Award was presented for the first time. This annual award honours the outstanding innovative work of a student or a young professional in the field of machine vision or imaging, giving the winner the chance to present the innovation at the EMVA Conference.

The first winner of the EMVA Young Professional Award is Florian Oefelein. He received this award for his master thesis on the topic "Depth-resolved defect inspection of glass products". Read our press release.
